Sanitation Division (Trash services)
The Sanitation Division provides the following services:
- Solid waste pick-up and disposal
- Recycling services
- Yard waste pick-up
- Bulk item pick-up
- 1.5 Temporary dumpster rental

Trash pickup requirements
- Containers must be placed on the street curb by 6am day of pick-up or no earlier then 4pm the day prior
- Arrows on the lid of the cart should be pointing towards the street
- Carts should have at least two feet between them and any obstacles (vehicles, mailbox, fence, etc. in the event vehicles are parked in the street please place two feet away from the curb and vehicle)
- Bag all trash
- Carts must be removed from the curb no later then 12 hours following the day of collection
* On windy days please keep one hand on lid when moving to prevent injury
What not to put in your trash container
- Trash that is not bagged
- Yard waste
- Bricks, concrete, soil (other heavy objects that could damage the cart)
- Shingles
- Hazardous waste (Paint, oil, batteries, pesticides, flammable liquids, drain cleaners, etc.)
- E-waste (computers, microwaves, printers, tablets, modems, etc)
- Vape/E-cigarettes
- Hot ashes
Recycle Coach
Recycle Coach is an app you are able to download on your phone or use the webpage to receive notifications/reminders, report sanitation issues, and see your pickup schedule.

How do I find my Trash and Recycle pickup days?
- Click on the link below, this will redirect you to our "Cheyenne Sanitation Pick-up Zones".
- Enter and select your address located under "Laramie County Composite Locator". This will show you all pickup days associated with your address.

*All dumpsters require a signed agreement provided by the Sanitation Division.*
Items That Should NOT Be Placed in Dumpsters
- Hazardous Wastes: Items such as oil, gas, paint, stain, pesticide, florescent light bulbs, batteries, etc., should not be placed in waste containers.
- E-Waste (Electronic Waste): Items with any electronic components in them cannot be placed in waste containers (i.e., TVs , stereos, computers, cell phones). We accept these items at the Transfer Station. This service is free for private residents, but there is a charge for businesses.
- Appliances: Appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioners, washers, dryers, and stoves should not be placed in a roll-off container. These items may be placed on the outside of the container and called in for an extra pickup by Sanitation.
- Tires: Tires cannot be thrown into the dumpster. You may bring them to the Transfer Station.
- Concrete or Shingles: These items should go directly to the Landfill.
- Yard Waste: Grass, leaves, tree branches, garden wastes, and other things of that nature may not be placed in waste containers. These items may be taken to the Compost Facility.
Note: We do not provide temporary roll-off containers for residential use. Please contact a commercial roll-off business for this service.
