City residents will receive city pricing with proof of residency.

 

What is not accepted at the Transfer Station

  • Concrete
  • Asphalt
  • Shingles
  • Yard Waste
  • Asbestos (this will need to be double bagged and taken to the City of Cheyenne Landfill

Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) are items that CANNOT be thrown away with your regular trash because certain materials can pose a threat to our communities ground water. DO NOT dispose of, ignitable, corrosive, toxic or poisonous materials in your regular trash.

 

What is considered Hazardous Waste??

  • Oil based paints (Latex Paint is not considered hazardous)
  • Poisons, Pesticides, Herbicides
  • Flammable liquids, gas, paint thinners
  • Acids (Hydrochloric & Muriatic)
  • Sodium Hydroxide & Drain Cleaners
  • Oxidizers, Pool Chemicals, MEKP
  • Antifreeze
  • Batteries

What do I do with my old latex paint?

Latex paint can be thrown away in your regular trash only AFTER its been completely dried out. You may add kitty litter or sawdust to speed the drying process.

Commercial Disposal

Charges to commercial entities for recycling of electronic components are current contracted costs plus 10% for handling and processing. 
Contact the Solid Waste Division for current prices. 
 
Electronic components (computers, televisions, cell phones, etc.) contain hazardous materials and must not be disposed of in the landfill.  City & County residents are welcome to bring up to three (3) pieces of electronic waste per day for no cost.

The Transfer Station accepts the following methods of payments:

  • Cash                               

  • Check

  • Money Order

  • Credit & Debit Cards

A convenience fee will be assessed for credit and debit card payments.
