CHEYENNE – Crews from the City of Cheyenne Urban Forestry Division were called out over 10 times this past weekend to remove fallen trees that were blocking streets throughout Cheyenne. Crews will be cleaning up fallen trees from City properties today and into the week. Strong winds blew over several trees and also weakened others. The public is being advised to stay clear of any trees that blew over or are partially blown over. Forestry staff will be evaluating all City properties over the next several days to gauge tree damage and identify any hazardous conditions. The public should refrain from walking under large trees and abide by any closures in parks that are set up to protect public safety.
Citizens who experienced tree damage or tree failures on their own properties should call a licensed tree maintenance company to assist with clean-up and/or evaluate weakened trees. A list of City licensed tree maintenance businesses can be found at: http://www.cheyennetrees.com/
