Rooted in Cheyenne will host a Tree Steward Training Program on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Laramie County Public Library Cottonwood Room.

This event is for tree enthusiasts who want to take the next step to further their knowledge and skill level and be tree advocates in the community. Attendees will gain basic knowledge of tree planting, pruning, and maintenance, including guidance on assessing and tracking tree health and tree care advice for homeowners.

Further information will be provided regarding tree identification, signs and symptoms of insects and disease, and management strategies. This training will include tree planting and pruning demonstrations.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided along with a t-shirt, hand pruners, and gloves. Two attendees will receive a 15-gallon tree. Attendance is capped at 25 and reservations are recommended in advance. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at Rooted in Cheyenne’s website under the ‘Events’ tab.
