The City of Cheyenne will host an open house next week for residents to provide suggestions on the design of a new outdoor pool. This new pool is intended to replace the 70-year-old Johnson Pool.

Those who attend will be able to discuss what aquatic options are feasible to meet the needs of that specific facility and area.

The open house will be Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Destiny Church (215 E 8th St). Attendees should enter through the doors on Warren Avenue.

Overarching goals for Johnson Pool include:

  • Removal/replacement of the existing Johnson Pool
  • ADA compliant facilities including restrooms and concessions
  • Community gathering space

Feedback from the open house will be used to assist in the new design for the Johnson Pool.
