The City of Cheyenne will host a community workshop in September that will be an early step in developing a revitalization plan for the East 15th Street corridor in downtown Cheyenne.

The area for this project includes East 15th Street and East Lincolnway from Warren Avenue to Holliday Park.

The plan for the area will identify projects and processes for supporting smart growth, revitalization, and infrastructure needs along the corridor.

The workshop will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore (715 E. 15th St.). The event will begin with a presentation followed by interaction with project staff.

Attendees will be asked to provide their thoughts on how Cheyenne can:

  • Enhance physical character and transportation infrastructure along East 15th Street,
  • Catalyze commercial revitalization and redevelopment,
  • Encourage affordable/attainable housing options,
  • Address environmental challenges, and
  • Invest in infrastructure to support future development.

In addition to the workshop, residents, business owners/representatives, property owners, and other key stakeholders in the East 15th Street corridor are invited to an all-day work session on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Cheyenne Depot.

Anyone interested in either event is asked to RSVP at http://tinyurl.com/buildingcheyenne.
