City announces sanitation & facility schedule for New Year’s Day 2025

Several City facilities and offices will have modified schedules for the 2024-25 New Year holiday.

City Offices

City offices will close at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, and will remain closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025.

 

Sanitation/Trash and Recycling Schedule

Residents who would typically have trash and recycle pickup on Wednesday, Jan. 1, will instead have pickup on Saturday, Jan. 4. Containers should be set out by 6 a.m.

Trash and recycle pickup will remain as scheduled on Tuesday, Dec. 31.

The Solid Waste Transfer Station (220 N. College Drive), Happy Jack Landfill, the Compost Facility (3714 Windmill Road), and Household Hazardous Waste (220 N. College Drive) will be open Tuesday, Dec. 31, until noon and be closed Jan. 1.

The Sanitation Division office will be closed in line with other City offices.

Residents should remember to keep recycling unbagged; break down boxes cut to 2’ by 2’; and bag all trash to prevent it blowing out of containers and the landfill.

 

Cheyenne Transit Program

Cheyenne Transit Program offices and bus service will close Dec. 31 at noon and will resume service on Thursday, Jan. 2.

 

Cheyenne Botanic Gardens

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens Grand Conservatory and the Paul Smith Children’s Village will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Patrons should visit the Gardens’ website at www.botanic.org for more information.

 

Cheyenne Aquatic Center

The Cheyenne Aquatic Center will close Dec. 31 at 5 p.m. and remain closed Jan. 1. Patrons should check the Aquatic Center website (www.cheyenneaquatics.com) for more information.

 

BEAST Recreation Center

The BEAST Recreation Center will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Patrons should check the Cheyenne Rec facility page (https://cheyennerec.org/facility-rentals-city-rentals/) for more information.

 

Cheyenne Ice & Events Center

The Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will be closed Jan. 1. Patrons should check the Ice and Events Center website (www.cheyenneiceandevents.com) for public skating and other scheduled events.

 

City Golf Courses

The Airport Golf Course and Kingham Prairie View Golf Course will be open. Patrons should check the course website (https://airportgolfclub.com/) for more information.
