The Cheyenne Greenway during fall.

The City of Cheyenne is seeking applications for citizen membership for the Greenway Advisory Committee. There are two positions to be filled.

The purpose of the Greenway Advisory Committee is to provide community representation and specialized expertise to Greater Cheyenne Greenway efforts. The group helps set priorities for new projects and makes recommendations for Governing Body decisions. It also makes recommendations about ongoing maintenance and provides suggestions to mitigate conflicts and problems that may arise. The Committee provides support for Greenway projects in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to public outreach, sales tax ballot initiatives and grant applications.

The Greenway Advisory Committee consists of seven citizen members and eight agency members representing organizations like Laramie County, LCSD1, and WYDOT. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from 12 p.m. to about 1:30 p.m. at the Cheyenne Municipal Building, 2101 O’Neil Ave., Room 208. The public is always welcome to attend.

Interested residents can obtain an application by contacting Jeanie Vetter, Parks and Greenway Planner via email at jvetter@cheyennecity.org. All applications will be considered at the Jan. 19, 2024, regular meeting.
