City Council to hold swearing in ceremony Jan. 6, 2025

The Cheyenne City Council will hold its Sine Die meeting and swearing in ceremony on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, at 10 a.m. in City Council Chambers.
The ceremony will involve the current city council adjourning Sine Die (marking the end of the current council makeup) after which newly-elected and reelected officials will be sworn in and the new council will hold its first meeting to approve the appointment of, and swear in, city officials.
Council members who will be sworn in are Pete Laybourn and Jeff White of Ward 1, Dr. Kathy Emmons and Tom Segrave of Ward 2, and Dr. Michelle Aldrich and Mark Moody of Ward 3. Mayor Patrick Collins will also be sworn in for his second term.
The Hon. Justice Kate Fox of the Wyoming Supreme Court will administer the oath of office to the mayor, council members, and city officials.
Following Monday’s meeting, City Council’s Public Services Committee will meet at 12 p.m. Council’s Finance Committee will hold its first meeting of this term on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 12 p.m. For the upcoming term, Public Services Committee meetings will be held on the first and third Monday of each month at 12 p.m. and Finance Committee meetings will be held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 12 p.m.
Council will meet next on Monday, Jan. 13, at 6 p.m.
