The City of Cheyenne Aquatics Division has announced that the opening of Johnson Pool will be delayed due to essential repairs being made on the pool shell.
The pool is expected to be open by Friday, June 21.
The repairs include replacing a 480 square foot area of the pool shell, followed by sealing and painting the concrete. After these steps are completed, the pool will be filled, and the water will be treated and regulated for safety.
Concrete work is scheduled to begin on June 10 and is estimated to take about a week. Once the repairs are completed, the pool will undergo a thorough inspection by the Health Department to ensure it meets all safety standards.
“We know how much residents look forward to using Johnson Pool,” Aquatics Manager Kyle Myers said. “We appreciate pool users’ understanding and patience as we work to ensure a safe and enjoyable swimming environment for everyone.”
Johnson Pool is located at 303 E. 8th St. For more information about Johnson Pool and the Aquatics Division, visit www.cheyenneaquatics.com.
