Safe Routes to School Open House - East
The Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will hold public open houses next week to solicit community input on the Safe Routes to School Plan update.
Community members will have the opportunity to discuss success stories and areas of concern with staff and the consultants developing the plan. Surveys will be available both in paper format at the meeting and digital format on the Cheyenne MPO website to solicit additional feedback.
The meetings will be held at the following times and locations:
Monday, Nov. 6, 5:30-7 p.m.
East High School, 2800 E. Pershing Boulevard
Wednesday, Nov. 8, 5:30-7 p.m.
South High School, 1213 W. Allison Road
Thursday, Nov. 9, 5:30-7 p.m.
Central High School, 5500 Education Drive
The Cheyenne MPO is working with Laramie County School District 1 on the Safe Routes to School plan, which was last updated in 2010. The goal of the plan is to make it safer to get to and from Cheyenne schools and to encourage more students and faculty to walk, roll, and bike to get there.
Questions regarding the Safe Routes to School Plan update should be directed to gstevens@cheyennempo.org. For more information, follow the Cheyenne MPO on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/PlanCheyenne) or visit the MPO’s website at www.plancheyenne.org.
